This is a photo of Michael Bowman of the 7th Virginia Calvary. He signed his name in the first room at the top of the stairs. He spirit is believed to still be in that room. Paranormal groups have communicated with him and he has been known to pull on our lady visitors hair.
Michael Bowman was a member of Company H of the 7th Virginia Calvary. He enlisted in the Confederate Army on April 18, 1861, in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He was wounded during the fighting in the Wilderness on May 5, 1864, but recovered and survived the war. Afterward, Bowman lived in Madison County until his death in 1907.
