Battle of Brandy Station anniversary event on the Graffiti House grounds, 19484 Brandy Road, Brandy Station. Tours, speakers, Living History Encampment by 23rd USCT, Civil War Print Raffle, Bowles food truck.
Schedule of Events:
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Tours of the Graffiti House continue throughout the Day; Raffle tickets for a Civil War print sold at front desk ($2 each or 3/$5)
10:00 AM - 4:30 PM Living History Encampment by 23rd United States Colored Troops. They were part of the 4th Division, 9th Corps that guarded the Orange and Alexandria Railroad.
11:00 AM - “Civil War Trailblazers and Trouble Makers” Gene Schmiel The talk will feature some of the trailblazers and trouble makers who were at Brandy Station during the big cavalry engagement on June 9, 1863
12:00 PM Welcome Ceremony

2:00 PM - “The Bureau of Military Information and the Intelligence Campaign in 1863” Keynote speaker Gregory B. Elder, Chief Historian, Defense Intelligence Agency. The BMI, the first formal American intelligence agency, was active during the Civil War.
3:15 PM - “Juneteenth - A Day of Celebration” Rev. Adrian Sledge
3:45 PM - “The Battle of Brandy Station” Frank O’Reilly Historian Frank O'Reilly's book, The Fredericksburg Campaign: Winter War on the Rappahannock, received a 2003 nomination for the Pulitzer Prize in Letters. He has led a number of tours around many of the battlefields of the Civil War, including Kelly's Ford and Brandy Station.
