It pays to attend breakfast
as Della Edrington (accompanied by Helen Geisler)
found out when she spoke, in December, at the Culpeper County
Chamber of Commerce Legislative Breakfast about preserving and
restoring the Graffiti House. In addition to subsequently
receiving letters of support from both Virginia Senator Ed Houck
and Delegate Ed Scott, a reporter for the Culpeper Citizen was
at the breakfast and asked for an interview. The result was a
major article detailing the Graffiti House plight. This,
in turn, led to a call from Fox News, Channel 5, D.C. They will
be at the Graffiti House Sunday, January 14th, to hopefully
further widen the awareness of our needs.
The quote of the day was made by Helen, " I know somehow
we will get this done through the generosity of others,
our foundation operates on a lot of faith."

On Sunday,
January 14th, Doug Owsley
will be speaking at 2PM at the Culpeper Library in a program
co-sponsored by Mr. Dickerson of the Corner Shelf. Mr. Owsley is
Curator and Division Head for Physical Anthropology at the
Smithsonian National Museum. He conducted the excavation at the St.
James Church on the B.S. Battlefield.
